2015 and 2016 Ford F-150s may have defective brakes

Oklahomans who own 2015 or 2016 Ford F-150s might want to learn about an investigation that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently conducting about reports of braking issues in those vehicles. The investigation concerns models that are equipped with 3.5 cylinder V-6 engines.

According to the NHTSA, several F-150 vehicle owners have reported braking issues. A total of 10 reports involving 2015 trucks and 15 reports involving 2016 trucks have been made to the NHTSA. The current investigation covers around 282,000 F-150s in the U.S. Ford F-150s are the most popular trucks in the country.

Owners who have filed complaints about the 2015 models report that the brake pedals suddenly go all the way to the floor. Their brake warning lights illuminate as do the indicators for low or empty brake fluid, and the trucks lose all brake effectiveness. For the 2016 models, the complaints are similar. The brake pedals suddenly go to the floor and there is a complete loss of braking effectiveness. No warning lamps illuminate, however. No recall has yet been issued, and the investigation into the brake problems is continuing.

If an automobile has a defective part that then causes an accident, injured people might be able to recover damages from the manufacturer through an auto product liability lawsuit. A lawyer might help by drafting the complaint and listing all of the defendants and legal claims. The attorney might then work to negotiate a fair settlement so that the clients may be fairly compensated for any losses.
